Another Flashback.

1979 )

This is my favorite pop song ever. Smashing Pumpkins...but it's like, the only song I really like by them (which, of course, is more than I can claim to many other bands that are anything close to contemporary).

Anyway, went to Saint Mark's like usual this morning, for the first time in nearly three years, I didn't wear black pants to Saint Mark's on a Sunday morning. Amazing. There was a bird stuck in the nave the whole time, so most of the congregation's attention was at that (particularly through Mesenbring's 20-minute sermon about...what was it? I don't remember anything but the bird landing in the flowers!).

Then I had a nice REALLY long conversation about almost everything with Sasha (a new-ish member - she was in the CI class), and she even waited with me while the 48 took its merry time getting to the U-District. And that was exciting.

I should do my Latin homework, and I will, eventually.

Happy Birthday, Captain Janeway! )

Just one more thing: it's Captain Janeway's birthday! (Don't worry, it was mentioned on an episode recently, so I have a good reason to remember...) This is...well, kind of morbid, but funny anyway.

I just want you all to know:

Sometime soon I will transcribe the message Lavena left on my phone.

But I'll do it later, because I'm too lazy to do it now.

What you need to know is that her mom makes really good steak, and no matter how much and hard I try, I'm always going to look like a hooker in this prom dress.

It's just a good thing I didn't put on the lipstick; that just kind of made everything worse.

Lavena and Sophie went off to Prom; Lauren and I went to our respective homes...we'll probably just sit there. Actually, I'm going to bed soon, 'cause I have to be at Saint Mark's at 8:30 in order to help with Cathedral Day, the day the youth makes pancakes. Besides, since my dad doesn't know as much about computers as he thinks he does, he has three hours of work to do, re-putting pics on the computer.

A "real" update.

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...

I kind of NEVER WANT TO GO TO SCHOOL AGAIN.

Anyway, Confirmations was yesterday, was confirmed, saw Janet and Michelle (please understand: being confirmed IS very important to me, but I don't really like to talk about it, and seeing Janet and Michelle was something I hadn't done in two weeks, a LONG time for all of us).

So after those, I went with Janet and Michelle to Janet's house in order to pack. Janet, poor dear, went into her bedroom to change out of her clericals (the collar, etc.) and fell asleep. So Michelle and I packed books for her - I mean, it was hard for them, PARTICULARLY Janet to go back to Saint Mark's.

No one - not even me, really - knows exactly HOW MUCH I appreciate her coming for this.

'Cause it was all because of me.

Anyway, Michelle and I found a LOT of REALLY cool books: Winnie the Pooh in LATIN, a volume on game animals...oh jeez, she has SO much cool stuff.

Packing it will be a PROJECT.

Then we went to dinner with my mom, and that was exciting. THAT, I will tell you, went MUCH better than I'd originally expected it to. We all had a good time, and there was no armwrestling for the bill (Michelle got to it first).

TODAY, Sunday as usual...God, for the first time in two and a half years, I just wanted to sleep in.

ON A SUNDAY.

But of course, I went anyway (had to be there at 7:30am).

Then, afterwards, I went downstairs to get my stuff and I decided to ask Mel about our next lesson (after all this went down, we haven't had one in over a month - I haven't played in three weeks - and even if this hadn't happened, Holy Week still takes a lot of both our times), and after we arranged it, Mel asked me if I wanted to go to the Symphony with him, 'cause his wife was going to a play at ACT and he still wanted to go. And I was like SURE 'cause first of all, I do like Mel a lot, he's great, second, I NEED TO GO TO CONCERTS TO GET AN A IN ORCHESTRA, and third...well, I didn't want to do homework.

Easy as that.

GREAT concert, though. La Mer...Debusy.

But then we have school again tomorrow :(
